Inter Miami’s MLS Season Performance Brings Qualification To FIFA Club World Cup

Inter Miami Proves It Belongs

As one of the best clubs in the world, you are deserved participants in the new FIFA Club World Cup 2025.” FIFA President, Gianni Infantino announced. Firstly, FIFA later explained in a statement how Inter Miami won its place. The organization explained that it was “on the basis of the club’s outstanding and consistent 34-match campaign.”

At the end of the group stage, Inter Miami has a cumulative earning of $13.55 million and a $7.5 million payout for qualifying to the round of 16. What that means is, it’s $21.05 million in the bank for the organization. What’s been highlighted now, is just how significant that amount of money is to a club like Inter Miami. They see a much smaller amount from MLS revenues and prize funds. To sum it up, it’s a big payday, for sure, for the internationally popular team.

With Messi pulling the strings, even as he now celebrates his 38th birthday, Miami has nothing to lose. It will challenge European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, on June 29.

Must Read

Financially, Inter Miami has already hit the jackpot, but regardless of its results on the field, they are already winners.

In March, FIFA announced a total prize fund comprising of $1 billion. That brought notice to Europe’s wealthiest teams who were suddenly much more interested participating, and after some early cynicism.

If a Europe team wins all of their group games and then goes on to win the Club World Cup, they receive a minimum of $130.4 million or a maximum of $155.8 million.

Auckland City is an example of the enormous benefit to non-European sides. Oceania’s sole representative is a semi-professional team. Its players and coaching staff had to take time off their day jobs just to take part in the Club World Cup.

They have a clear incentive with a $3.58 million payout just by showing up. Plus, they have the opportunity to share a pitch with teams like Bayern Munich and Benfica. Given that Auckland reported NZD 1.1 million ($660,000) in revenue for the last financial year, makes one of the more extreme examples.

It’s turning out to be quite a sports spectacle in the United States. Everyone wins with this FIFA Club World Cup.
