LIV Golf is hoping to have a 2027 season.

LIV Golf is attempting to put together a roster for the 2027 season and has set a deadline of October 25th for players to sign a deal for the 2027 season. The players who might stick around the financially stressed golf circuit are not going to be allowed to play in the DP World Tour circuit next year. The DP World Tour had been granting LIV players conditional releases to participate in tournaments. DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings told the BBC that he has to protect his circuit. “Players need to make a choice. We have rules and regulations which are there to protect our tour and which our members must all abide by. Players who are not willing to comply with our rules and regulations should not be seeking to join our tour.” The Professional Golf Association has been banning LIV players since the new circuit started in 2022.The players who want to sign up for the DP World Tour have until November 16th to do so. One player who will not return to the LIV Tour in 2027 is Jon Rahm, who is one of the best players in the world.

The DP World Tour cut deals granting conditional releases to LIV players in part to allow players like Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton to continue their Ryder Cup eligibility. The DP World Tour oversees the European Ryder Cup team, while the PGA of America oversees the American Ryder Cup squad. Meanwhile LIV Golf is trying to rebuild the business that Saudi Arabian money started. The Saudi Arabian money faucet was turned off in the spring and the circuit fell apart with tournaments cancelled and vendors scrambling to get money owed to them.  LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. LIV has a new partner, BC Partners, a London-based private equity firm.
