Yale Earns Share of Men’s Basketball Title; Ivy Madness Race Tightens Again

Yale moved to 10-0 in the league standings and locked up at least a share of the Ivy League

With four games remaining, the Bulldogs now eye an outright title and securing the top seed in Ivy Madness. Tonight, that race for Ivy Madness tightens as Penn upended Dartmouth and Brown (over Columbia) and Princeton (over Harvard) also picked up important victories. 

The Ivy League men’s and women’s basketball tournaments will be held at Brown’s Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence from March 14-16. Full information is available at IvyMadness.com.

PENN 88, DARTMOUTH 75
Nick Spinoso
 was an efficient 9-for-11 from the field on his way to piling up a team-high 23 points tonight as Penn defeated Dartmouth in Philadelphia. Ryan Cornish led Dartmouth with 19 points. The Big Green fall back into a tie for third in the league standings while the Quakers now just sit just two back from fourth place and Ivy Madness with four games to play. Penn hosts Harvard tomorrow night while Dartmouth travels up to Princeton. 

YALE 92, CORNELL 88
It was a back-and-forth battle for 40 minutes tonight in New Haven before Yale ultimately prevailed over Cornell and clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title. Five Bulldogs were in double figures, led by Nick Townsend’s 24 points. Yale moves to 10-0 in league play and 17-6 overall. Cornell was led by AK Okereke’s 30 points. Cornell now turns its attention to an important matchup in Providence tomorrow night with Brown. The Bears and Big Red both sit at 5-5 in a tie for fourth place in the league standings. 

PRINCETON 76, HARVARD 71
Xavian Lee
 had 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting to help Princeton earn a 76-71 win over Harvard. The Tigers shot 59% from the field and 44% from behind-the-arc. Robert Hinton had 31 points for the Crimson. Princeton hosts Dartmouth tomorrow night while Harvard travels down to Philadelphia to take on Penn. 

BROWN 86, COLUMBIA 61
Brown jumped out to an 11-point halftime lead and never looked back on its way to a convincing 86-61 win over Columbia. The Bears were led by Alexander Lesburt, Jr.’s 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor. With the win, Brown moves into a tie for fourth place with Cornell, who visits Providence tomorrow night at 7 p.m. (ESPN+.) Columbia was paced by Gerard O’Keefe’s 16 points.
